La Rochette Summer Camp offers a boutique equestrian and French immersion experience in the heart of the Belgian countryside.

Hosted by Frédéric and Michèle Van Elslander and their four children, this family-run program reflects a lifelong passion for horses and countryside living.

Our children have grown up riding and competing. Our daughter competes in eventing and is currently studying veterinary medicine in London, while our son was twice UK University Polo Champion during his time at Cardiff University, where he also served as president of the university polo club.

Participants stay in a 400-year-old manor and a 5-star guesthouse, surrounded by nature in the peaceful Vyle River valley.

This unique program offers young riders the opportunity to experience authentic European countryside life while improving their French in a natural immersion environment.

Each week includes:

• 15 hours of horse riding
• 15 hours of French immersion
• yoga and aquagym
• excursions and cultural visits
• introduction to equine shiatsu
• home-cooked organic meals prepared with locally sourced ingredients

• access to the heated saltwater pool and infrared sauna

Participants are supervised at all times and enjoy a safe and welcoming family environment.

Located in the heart of Europe and easily accessible from Brussels International Airport, La Rochette welcomes international students from around the world.

With small boutique groups of six to eight participants, every student receives personal attention and becomes part of the warm atmosphere of Ferme de la Rochette.

More than a camp, La Rochette offers a unique European summer experience combining horse riding, French immersion and life in the countryside.

Students come from different countries to share this experience, improve their French and form lasting international friendships.

Many participants stay for two, three or even four weeks to fully enjoy the experience.

Places are limited each week to ensure a personal and high-quality program.

The manor house and outbuildings have undergone a complete ecological renovation and the land is pesticide-free with La Rochette being a member of the Natagora network of natural gardens. The breathtaking scenic beauty of the Deep Condroz in the Namur region, with its many castles, farms and markets will hold you spellbound as you immerse yourself in a complete French-speaking family environment.

This all-girl French and Equestrian program for teenagers aged 12-18 accepts only six to eight participants from June to August 31, 2026, which guarantees an exclusive setting and small classes. Language classes start at 9:00 am with the first group while the second group gets riding instruction. In the afternoon, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm, the order is reversed.  

Camp duration from 1 to 4 weeks or more. Arrival days on Sunday preferred. 

Digital Detox Experience

During the stay, participants disconnect from phones and social media to fully enjoy:

• horse riding

• nature

• real friendships

• French immersion

• countryside life 

• Phones can be used at specific times if necessary.

 La Ferme de la Rochette is also member of the GALO CONDROZ Riding Network which encompasses 250 km of riding trails in the internationally known equestrian region of GESVES-ASSESE-OHEY.
